Jon Snyder served for nine years as Governor Jay Inslee’s Senior Policy Advisor for Outdoor Recreation and Economic Development. Agencies in his portfolio included the State Parks Commission, the Recreation and Conservation Office, and the Department of Fish and Wildlife among others. In that capacity, he helped write legislation for the first statewide outdoor education program. Prior to that he served for six years on the Spokane City Council. He has been on the leadership team for the Leafline Trails Coalition and served on boards such as Spokane Transit Authority, the Spokane Regional Health District, and the Washington Traffic Safety Commission. In the private sector, Jon founded a regional outdoors magazine, co-founded a green and sustainable business directory, and was board president of a community radio station. He currently serves as the Director of Transportation and Sustainability for the City of Spokane.
