Road-Rail Conflicts Study
In 2016, the Legislature directed the Joint Transportation Committee (JTC) to conduct a study evaluating the impacts of prominent road-rail conflicts and to develop a corridor-based prioritization process for addressing the impacts on a statewide level. From this Phase 1 Study, an initial set of recommendations was developed to assist in developing solutions and to prioritize investments. In 2017, the Legislature then directed the Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board to provide an update to the JTC's Study of Road-Rail Conflicts in Cities. As a result, FMSIB completed the Phase 2 Study in August 2018. Please see the below links for the complete reports:

Marine Cargo Forecast Study
The Washington Public Ports Association and the Freight Mobility Strategic Investment Board worked jointly on the 2017 Marine Cargo Forecast Study which was completed in October 2017. The purpose of the 2017 Marine Cargo Forecast Study is to assess the expected flow of waterborne cargo through Washington's port system and to evaluate the distribution of cargo through the state's transportation network, including waterways, rail lines, roads, and pipelines.
