Matt Ewers is a principal and Senior Vice President at IEDS Logistics in Spokane, Washington where he has been employed in the family business since 2002. Matt began his career at UTC/Carrier Corporation as a design engineer for transport refrigeration equipment, e.g., nose-mount trailer and container reefer units. After more than a decade, Matt went to work for Dole Food Company designing port facilities in Central America and eventually running port terminal operations at Puerto Castilla, Honduras. In 2002, Matt returned to his hometown of Spokane to join his two brothers in operating the family business. IEDS Logistics is a third-party logistics company offering warehousing, transportation, and rail services with 3PL operations in Spokane and Pasco, Washington, and dedicated single-client services in Moses Lake, Washington; Lewiston, Idaho; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Shelby, North Carolina.
Matt has been actively involved in community activities on behalf of his family business:
- FMSIB – Board member, representing the trucking industry
- Greater Spokane Inc – Board member, Transportation and Government Affairs
- Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce – Transportation and Government Affairs
- Spokane Regionalal Transportation Council – Board member, rail and freight representative
- Spokane Symphony Endowment – President of the Board
- Spokane Area Good Roads Association - Board member
- Washington Trucking Association – 1st Vice Chairman of the board
Matt graduated from WSU in Engineering, earned an MBA from Brenau University, and a Master's in Finance from Gonzaga University.
